What is foam?
A specialized fire-extinguishing agent called foam is used in foam fire suppression systems to put out fires caused by flammable or combustible liquids. Foam extinguishing systems employ foam monitors, sprinklers, or nozzles to generate expansive foam blankets that envelop the burning material, extinguish the fire, and guard against re-ignition. These systems are particularly well-suited for safeguarding high-risk zones, especially those housing flammable liquids or plastics. The expansiveness of the foam can be tailored, ranging from low to very high expansion, based on the specific nature of the risk, ensuring optimal extinguishing efficacy.
